What does he want from me?is he using me?

I'm very wary of mens intentions and find it hard to trust them as i've been hurt in the past. My boyfriend says sweet things to me(marriage,take me on holiday etc),then the next minute he says 'i've always thought i'm better off single',but then he's like 'oh not now i've met you though',then he was on about taking me on holiday,now he's saying he cant fly because he has fear of it. So in a way he's contradicting himself. He also finished with me at start of relationship(maybe to test me?)then we got back together and he acted like nothing happened,i havent been able to forget about this,he seems indecisive and i keep thinking he will do it again,i wish i could tell him to f*** off but it's hard,what is his problem?
