Why did Israel take such harsh action against peace ships Were they provoked by Goldstone report?
I have posted several questions and answers about the Gaza incident. Ariel Sharon handed over the Gaza strip to the Palestinians in 2006 but Israel continued to control it after Hamas won the elections and became a government in exile in Gaza. Hamas might not have won if Fatah was not corrupted by Israel and the U.S. If the occupation and control were to end that might stop rocket attacks which are often provoked by Israeli actions like taking over East Jerusalem, putting children and women in jail, squeezing the Palestinians to a point where they are forced to respond. They have only the rockets to respond or retaliate. The convoy was non-political even if the Turkish group may have been anti-Israel. The pengers did not use deadly weapons. Israeli tactics were overkill for the occasion. The whole international community is not anti-Semetic as much as they are anti-Zionist. Remember the U.N. resolution equated Zionism with racism. It is true. The Holocause was 65 years ago, those people are mostly gone and Israel is no longer a victim of any country, not with 160 nukes. Even Egypt was paid $4 million by the U.S. to close off the tunnel between Egypt and Gaza. I concede that weapons were shuttled through there but don't the Gazans also have to defend their lives from the mighty Israeli forces?
