What does this action mean?

Well this guy I say hi to in the hallways is my friend. I was leaving and put my number on a bulletin I had posted up and he text me. I was like who is this, he was like just being mysterious and wouldnt tell me who he was. Then finally he told me that he was kidding and told me who he was. And then we jsut talked. Why did he text me?Does that mean nothing or just that he was bored. Also he had changed his number and gave me his new number on .Well does this mean nothing or something because you know how guys are. But i can tell thi guy is way different from others.
