How do professional DJs remix their songs?

I am a beginner DJ and I am wondering what the professionals use for making their remix? Is there a specific software I should try out? I want to learn how to take a song from my music library and completely make it my own! For instance, at the beginning, instead of having the real vocals, I make them sound like a robot. Change the b-line to the song. Change the synth sound. Maybe add some different sound effects. HOW DO I DO IT?!?! I REALLY want to learn/know how to do this!!!! Please help! Tell me what would be helpful. Maybe a good video on YouTube or something! HELP!
