4 mth old sick?

my son has been sick since monday , his been coughing really bad and spitting up green mucas, running a little fever here and there and yesterday while i was feeding () him I could feel this raspy feeling in his back and when he breaths it sounds like that also. so i took him to the doctor on monday.and the doc told all I could do was put saline drops in his noise and keep a cool mist humidifer on all the time. and now its Thur and it dont seem to help any . what do you think. He's going back tommorw for his sch 4mth appt and soposed to get his shots BUT were not going to get them. thanks
